THE MARUSHKA CLUTCH!!!

Fall is here, Winter is next, the seasons always change. Every woman should have a uniquely chic accessory that can be worn in any season. Hence, House of Rubi presents the “Marushka Clutch”!! A classy clutch made out of white canvas featuring black mud cloth inspired print.

Many of the fashions at House of Rubi are named after family, friends and other amazing people.

 This clutch was named after the fashion forward, jetsetter Ms. Marushka A.

Marushka Clutch

     The “Marushka Clutch” is made out of a heavy canvas cotton with a Mud cloth inspired print. It features a zipper opening at the top. The attached strap wraps around the middle of the clutch and functions as a snap closure. The clutch is 9 inches wide. Its height is 6 inches unfolded, and 5 inches when its folded and closed.

Today many mass produced fabrics feature mud cloth inspired prints.

However, traditionally, African Mud cloth is a handmade woven cotton fabric dyed with fermented mud and painted with with dyes made from roots and other natural pigments. Many handmade African textiles express the richness in culture and unique traditions from the region in which they were made.

Mud cloth is called Bogolanfini in Mali and the mud dyeing process is a centuries old tradition.
