As stated in the previous blog “Kente Kente Kente”, Kente cloth originated in West Africa and is identified with the Akan people and the Asante Kingdom. Today, the most recognizable Kente cloth have predominantly yellow and orange colors. The predominate colors in this corset are yellow and a reddish orange. It has green, maroon, red and white stripes. Geometrical squarish symbols form a X pattern in a solid black square. The squares also form a jagged pattern that looks like the side view of a staircase. According to the article “The meaning of shapes in design” curves in shapes tend to be viewed as feminine in nature; straight lined shapes are more masculine. http://www.whiteriverdesign.com/blog/2014/10/meaning-shapes-design/
